Former Tiger currently leading "DIG It!" volleyball youth program
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Former Mizzou Volleyball libero Caitlyn Vann has continued a successful career following her playing days in Mid-Missouri. Vann was a three-year starter as the Tigers' libero and took two trips to the NCAA Tournament.
The Muncie, Ind., native still holds the Mizzou Volleyball single-season record for digs in a season and ranks fourth all-time in digs in Big 12 history. Vann was also a nine-time Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honoree and earned 2010 AVCA All-Central Region Honorable Mention recognition.
Currently, Vann has worked with the "DIG It!" Volleyball outreach program which offers free after-school volleyball activities for low-income girls. The program aims to inspire participants to lead a healthy and confident life.
"The program officially kicked off this week and we already have over 120 kids participating in the DIG It program," Vann said. "It has been by far the most exciting and rewarding thing I've done in my volleyball career. We have a lot of support from the community."
The DIG It program will host a tournament on April 16 for a fun day of volleyball action. For more information on the program, contact Caitlyn Vann at Caitlyn@c2volleyball.com.
